TG Photography Weblog

My name is Tammy Goodwin.  I graduated from UCM, The University of Central Missouri, in December 2008.  I have a bachelor’s degree in photography with a minor in communications.  Many of the other pages on this blog are from some of my classes at UCM.

I am married to a wonderful supportive husband, Robert.  We have two kids, Logan is 9 and Leia is 6.  I am very proud of both of them.  One of the reasons that I went back to school was because of my son. I went back in 2002.  I aquired an AA degree from SFCC, State Fair Community College, in Sedalia, which is where I live. 

I worked at Wal-Mart in the photo center for 7 years.  I always had a love for photography.  I realized that I just might be able to persue a dream and be successful.  So I took all that I learned from Wal-Mart, plus my profit sharing, and took a giant leap towards school.

Now, I have been photographing weddings for six years.  I started out using film, and moved to digital.  I use a Canon 20D, and a Canon 5D .

I also take family, children, event and senior portraits.   I have also been a photographer for the Missouri State Fair.  This is something that is not really related to my ultimate goal, but I rather enjoy doing it.  It is a very dirty, very hot job.  I have met a lot of other photographers who have helped me along the way.  So I will probably continue working for the fair in comming years.

My goals have changed some in the past couple of years.  I had wanted a studio in the Sedalia area, however, now I have decided to be a location photographer and work out of my home.  I have the equipment I need to set up a photo shoot in any location.  As a location photographer I can travel to anywhere a client wants to use and I can keep my prices reasonable since I don’t have the overhead costs of operating a studio.  And as an added benefit, I can be home for my children before and after school.
